What sorts of projects are Cinderella’s Mice normally commissioned for? I’ve been commissioned for everything from cosplay to raincoats and everything in between, often at the same time. If you aren’t sure whether a project falls within the scope of my work, just ask! What is cosplay? Officially, cosplay is defined as the practice of dressing up as a fictional character, specifically one from a movie, book, or video game. It’s like Halloween for grown ups! How much does it cost to commission a project? How long does a commission take to complete? How do custom orders work exactly? How do I find my measurements? You can try to take your own measurements using this handy guide (you might need a second pair of hands), but I always recommend swinging by a local tailor or dress shop. They’ll usually take your measurements for free, and they make less mistakes. Can you take my measurements in person? Can I rush an order? Sure, but it’ll cost you! *Insert cash register sounds here* Actually, the cost of a rush job depends on both the job and the time constraint. I’m always available by email if you have any questions. What’s up with your no-cancellation policy? When starting a project, I purchase the materials up front, and due to the nature of clothing and costuming, those materials aren’t returnable. Furthermore, it’s nearly impossible for me to re-list or resell your commission. Is there an up-front cost for a commission? Yep! I always charge half the estimated cost of a project up front. This helps with the cost of materials and works to deter the “order and dash” customer. Frequently Asked Questions!
